Barnes Christmas Festival (Barnes Night)

St. Mary’s Church, Barnes

One of the Barnes community association events is the Barnes Christmas Festival that people call “Barnes Night”. It was held on the evening of Friday 12th of December.
Various shops opened late night and served mulled wine, mince pies and encouraged Christmas shopping. The fish monger prepared raw oysters at a very reasonable price, the butcher served sausages and the cheese shop also served various cheeses. People were singing carols and created the village atmosphere.
It was quite mild night and a lot of people were walking around Barnes High Street.
This years talking point was the reindeer. I do not know where came from or who owned it but this was the first time for me to see a real reindeer.
During the evening I bought a mini Christmas tree from the flower shop. Christmas has arrived in Jade Bookbinding studio
