The entrance of “Looking at
Shakespeare “ Exhibition Part 2
On the 7th of
February, the final venue for the Japanese tour of the Designer Bookbinders International Competition exhibition
successfully opened at the Museum of Modern Arts, Shiga. The exhibition is open
until the 5th of April.
The Museum of Modern
Arts, Shiga is situated in the western part of Japan and hosts a number of
important traveling exhibitions from abroad on a regular basis.
The exhibition itself
is the same as The Nerima Art Museum, Tokyo. The selected bindings from the
international competition form one section of a two part exhibition called
" Looking at Shakespeare".
The exhibition space
is bigger than The Nerima Art Museum.
There was the press
conference on the day before the public opening day. 7 news companies that
included both press and TV attended the conference and there were many enthusiastic
questions about the Designer Bookbinders International competition books. For more

2月7日、デザイナー・ブックバインダーズ国際コンペティション巡回展の最後の会場となる滋賀県立美術館にて展覧会が無事オープンいたしました。これは4月5日まで展示されます。
滋賀県立美術館は、関西(琵琶湖の近く)の文化ゾーンにある美術館で、海外からの巡回展覧会もよく主催されています。展覧会自体は、東京の練馬区立美術館と同じで、コンペティションの選抜作品の展示は、2部構成の「見つめて、シェークスピア!」展のうちの1つです。展示スペースは練馬区立美術館より広くなっています。
オープン前日の記者会見には、TVも含め報道関係7社が来て、デザイナー・ブックバインダーズ国際コンペティションの作品に対して熱心な質問があったそうです。展覧会詳細に関しては下記美術館のサイトをご覧ください。
