Small Pig cards and the box
A long time ago, I mentioned that I print have printed Letterpress Christmas cards since 1996 and has now become custom.
I have a small printing machine called an ADANA. It used to be kept in Studio 2 in Barnes. However, Studio 2 closed several years ago and my ADANA has been in the Jade Bookbinding Studio since then.
I have a small collection of Victorian and vintage printing blocks and I usually print the Christmas using one of the Victorian Illustration printing block on the ADANA with the card message printed on an inkjet printer. This year, I made a little bit more effort to print the Christmas message using type set letters.
I bought some new printing ink recently and, perhaps, this has increased my motivation. I also printed small cards using the small pig printing block and made the box for these cards.
I printed “J.B. Studio 2, Barnes” on the back of the small cards. It is the memory that I used to printed at Studio 2 and also the name of the “J.B. Studio 2” will use for the related for printing works.
随分前に、1996年からクリスマスカードを活版で印刷しており、それが習慣となっていることを書きました。私はアダナという小さな印刷機を持っており、かつてはそれをバーンズのスタジオ２に置いていたのですが、数年前にスタジオ２が閉じてからはここのJade Bookbindingスタジオにあります。ヴィクトリア朝の当時の印刷用凸版を幾つか持っているので、普段クリスマスカードはその中からイラスト凸版の一つを使ってアダナで印刷し、それにインクジェットプリンターで印刷したメッセージをつけています。
今年は少し頑張ってクリスマスのメッセージを活字で組みました。
最近、新しい印刷インクを購入し、多分それで喚起されたこともありますが、小さな豚の凸版を使って小さなカードも印刷しました。カードの後ろには「J.B. Studio 2, Barnes」と入れました。これは私が以前スタジオ２で印刷していたことの記念ということもありますが、印刷に関わる作品にはこの名を使おうと思っています。
