The studio often uses 'Liberty' fabric for workshops, lessons and courses.
Usually, ready made bookbinding cloth is supplied already lined with a thin paper backing, if you would like to use ordinary cloth for bookbinding or box making, it is better to back it with a thin paper or Japanese tissue paper. The Liberty’s Tana Lawn Cotton is a thin cloth that is easy to practice lining/backing with paper. Also, the decorative patterns are relatively small which is suitable to use for small or middle size book covers.
Recently, I went to the Liberty shop, in Regent Street, to buy some Tana Lawn Cotton during the new year sale. It has been quite a long time since I last visited the shop. Liberty is an individual department store in a very distinctive building in addition to selling unique merchandise.
It is a shop that allows the purpose of shopping to be a pleasant experience as there are so many beautiful things to see.

普通、既製の製本用クロスはすでに薄い紙によって裏打ちされていますが、もし普通の布を製本もしくは箱作りに使いたい場合は薄い紙もしくは薄い和紙で裏打ちをすることをお勧めします。リバティのタナ・ローン・コットンは薄い布で紙の裏打ちの練習がしやすく、また柄が比較的小さい模様なので小さい本や中ぐらいの大きさの本のカバーに使うのに向いています。最近、リージェント・ストリートにあるリバティに行き、年明けのセールでいくつかのタナ・ローン・コットンを購入してきました。お店に行ったのは久しぶりです。リバティはとても特徴的な建物で個性的な商品を揃えている独特な百貨店です。目的の買い物をするのみならず多くの美しいものを見て楽しむことのできるお店です。
